Thelma (Eili Harboe) collapses in the reading class. The first suspicion was epilepsy. That, however, did not find solid ground to be proven. Then, the doctors continue their research to find the cause of Thelma’s mysterious illness. In the meantime, Thelma meets Anja (Kaya Wilkins) from school with whom she develops a special bond. They not only develop a friendship but even fall for each other. But is it true love or another inexplicable illness which causes such obsession is something Thelma is yet to figure out.

But soon Thelma learns that she does not need go far to look for an answer as her parents seem to know about her or her condition more than they talk about it. As she embarks herself into a dangerous journey of the past to find a clue, everyone who even slightly crosses her path will meet the consequences either way.

New sci-fi thriller from Joachim Trier gives an interesting glimpse into the world of paranormal abilities, what people can do with it, and how dangerous that can be if the truth is uncovered way too late.
