Buster Moon is an impresario with lots of talent, bright ideas and debts to the bank. His optimism is beyond belief when he attempts to create a Musical Contest with $1000 as the award. But funny things happen when his old, unwell but extremely helpful, except this time though, green iguana named Ms. Karen Crawley (Garth Jennings) makes a huge typo error, when instead of one thousand dollars, she accidentally spreads the brochure, with the great support of a strong wind, where it says, ‘one-hundred thousands of dollars will be given to the one who will win the contest’.
When Buster Moon finds out about it, instead of correcting the wrong ads, he pretends that he owns the money to continue the rehearsal. While our hero thinks that he is the only one who is in great trouble, soon he will be proven wrong, as Rosita (Reese Witherspoon), a mother of twenty-five children has problems of her own, when back then she had to give up her dreams of performing to become a housewife for a workaholic husband, Normal, who does not even notice if Rosita is home or not. Meena (Tori Kelly) has an absolutely outstanding singing voice. As soon as she begins singing, you will be blown away as does her entire family. But the whole problem is poor Meena is afraid of the stage.
Mike (Seth MacFarlane), I guess, is the most charismatic character. He is a street musician whose performance of Frank Sinatra’s MY WAY will give you wings to fly without you even noticing it. He also gets into trouble… and one of them will be big enough to threaten his plans. Johnny (Taron Egerton) is the most troubled animal in SING. He tries his best to fulfil his duty as a son, but against his wish to become a mobster like his Big Daddy (Peter Serafinowicz). But his deepest desire is to be a singer, and gladly joins to the musical contest where he will be able to showcase his talents. Another interesting character of SING is a punk-rocker Ash (Scarlett Johansson) who is in a band with her less talented boyfriend Lance (Beck Bennett) who not only criticizes her talent, but the ability to write her own songs.
Set in the advanced world where the animals have a life like every human beings, all these unlike each other creatures will meet to learn how to chase the dream, not to give up no matter what, and overcome fear,that each of them have of their own. Beautiful colors, vivid characters and a life-changing lesson makes SING the most unusual film, even though the premise used in the film might be known to some of you. More importantly, SING delivers dozens of amusing scenes.
