Jennifer Garner’s performance as giddy Jenna Rink nails the excitement of a 13-year-old living with all the resources, freedom, responsibilities, and relationships of a 30-year-old. Jenna’s young idealism and optimism inspire her jaded career-focused friends and peers (as well as the audience) to return to the hope and enthusiasm of their youth. 13 Going On 30 has plenty of laughs but also a lot of sincerity. With an ending that will make you want to hug your significant other tight, 13 Going On 30 is a great rom-com that will leave a smile on your face and a little more joy in your soul.
