Every single day, women, children, and even men get violated, whether physically, sexually, or mentally. What kind of steps have been taken to stop the torture of the mind? Has a serious action ever been taken to prevent violence from happening?

The film follows Miriam, portrayed by Madeleine Sims-Fewer, the co-director of “Violation” (along with Dusty Mancinelli), who after few years returns to her sister’s home. A plan for reunion will be disturbed when Miriam gets sexually assaulted by her brother-in-law. Damaged from inside, and armed with psychological trauma, the woman turns this into a weapon when she declares war against her family member who violated not only her trust, but her body too.

“Violation” is not a typical horror film that would follow a book. It throws the genre stereotype away by recreating its own way of telling the journey of Miriam. Greta does not have a solid relationship with her sister. We don’t know much about it until the middle of the film. The heart wrenching encounter with her brother-in-law, Dylan (Jesse LaVercombe) will lead to an epic scene of killing, in which Miriam will take her own sweet time to enjoy every single minute of it and show how vicious she can be if messed with. So do not shy away from keeping your eyes closed during the most brutal and superbly executed scene. You won’t be the only one. But it is fun, in a way, to see the release of the beast and to think if only Dylan knew….
