Synopsis: After the cataclysmic events in New York, Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Captain America becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue of an internal enemy that threatens to put the world at risk. Steve Rogers teams up with Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Sam Wilson/Falcon. But soon after Steve Rogers will have to be facing up against an unexpected and very dangerous enemy from the past: The Winter Soldier.

There is one magic word: Marvel. Whatever Marvel makes is absolutely fascinating and very interesting. We already know that In Marvel`s World nothing is impossible.  Only one superhero is missing here – that  is Spider Man. And maybe, it`s a good thing, that we don’t see Peter Parker even in The Avengers. But that`s not the topic I am going to write about.

Unlike the predecessor this ‘Captain America: – The Winter Soldier” is more serious, spectacular, dramatic, and very much watchable with great characters in it. We know that Steve Rogers is self-assured and quite self-enamored. Meantime, he is very brave, loves his country, and willing to sacrifice his life for what he believes in: the bright future of humanity. In Marvel`s Captain America; The Winter Soldier we see Steve Rogers more mature, responsible, smarter: he thinks faster, analyzes the situation quickly and moves accordingly.

This film directed by Antony and John Russo is quite political and touched very sensitive subjects  such as: 1) an internal enemy, 2)willingness to kill millions in order to save billions of lives. Sounds scary, but that’s how it works for Alexander Pierce (Robert Redford). When S.H.I.E.L.D. has been compromised, our hero finds out about Hydra.

HYDRA is a secret organizations whose leader is Alexander Pierce. Having in his hand such an advanced system as Hydra, it allows reading and predicting many people’s future, and not only. The purpose is: – to identify  selected people, who as per Hydra`s algorithm is capable to become on of the brightest people in the World, and eliminate them.

Certainly, this kind of subject is quite dangerous to talk about in the movie, such as “Captain America: The Winter Garden” who is not supposed to fight against his own people. But this time, Steve Rogers need to face against an internal enemy, and very powerful.

Even though, you might find this movie very unusual –  however, it has great sense of humor, smart dialogues, with full of outstanding action-packed scenes. And great addition to this part was Black Widow and Falcon, and the Winter Soldier who made this film absolutely one of the best Marvel’s movies ever.

Most important in the movie is how the characters will be developed. And it seems Christopher Markus (Thor: The Dark World, The Chronicles of Narnia; Prince Caspian) and Stephen McFeely (Thor: The Dark World) has absolutely same vision:

Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) is absolutely great and very strong person, and loves his job. He has an ability to predict enemy’s next move and beat him. Sometimes, he can pretend that he is losing the game, just because to watch and see, what’s next?

Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (Scarlett Johansonn) is a very fearless person. She is willing to help, and does not mind to sacrifice her life. She is very honest, but meantime, a very careful. She knows she can`t trust anyone, except herself. But in Marvel`s Captain America: The Winter Soldier she understand is becoming more as friend to Steve Rogers, and helps him to defeat an enemy. And in this film, we clearly see that, there is one more character is deserves to get a separate movie. And why not? I don’t know about you, but I want to see the movie of Black Widow, and want to know the whole story of Natasha Romanoff, and how she became who she is right now. Scarlett Johansson does an impressive job here moving to absolutely different level. And let`s hope we will still be able to see more Black Widow in the nearest future.

Alexander Pierce (Robert Redford) is a very dangerous person and does not value human life. All what he needs is to ensure that there is no future for promising and extremely smart people. He wants to be the one who will rules the World, or at least, to be the part of it. He can kill anyone, and anytime just to achieve his sinister plan. To eliminate twenty millions people for Alexander Pierce is nothing. Since he believes that this is the war the World exists: – in order to save billions, you need to learn sacrifice a million of lives. Robert Redford is a veteran actor. Most of us grew up watching his movies. And I don’t really have to mention all of them here. Otherwise, I will never finish writing this review. In my opinion, Robert Redford does a very good job, and even though, he does not have that type of face that can assure us that he is an evil. However, having such a long years of acting, Robert seems was born to be Alexander Pierce. And I am very glad that he is.

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is quite watchable movie. The sounds and the action scenes are very impressive. It’s definitely worth to watch it in cinema. And if you decide to do so, watch the movie till the end: Because only in the end you will find out that; ‘This is not the World of Super Heroes. This is a World of Magic.” And then, you will see Scarlett Witch as Elizabeth Olsen, which is mean that next “Captain America” will be even better than this one. And why it should not?

  1. I actually missed the after-film credits. Which upset me! I love the beautiful Elizabeth Olsen so yeah, truly a shame! Anyways, great write-up! I agree with everything you said except that Marvel is always fantastic! They are letting me down with “The Amazing Spiderman” haha!

    1. Elizabeth Olsen as an actress is much better than Jennifer Lawrence. “The Amazing Spider Man” was not that good…. I can’t srand the actor who played Spider Man. But I love Marvel. 🙂
